Documentation for MC-LAG a/a MAC sync

‎12-09-2013 04:23 AM

Hello,

for an Enterprise DC-Core network we are using MC-LAG a/a on the MX.

As it is absolute essential that both MC-LAG peers are fully synchronized regarding

MAC/ARP entries I want do understand how this work.

I heard about that there might be different options achieving this goal (vrrp / irb).

Can sb help me finding some documentation sources how this works, how to configure it,

and if there are different methods, pros and cons of those ones.

Many thx in advance

Alfred

Hello Suresh,

many thx for your answer.

The link above describes howto configure MC-LAG, but does not explain options for mac synchronization.

The O'Reilly MX book (I think you meant that with cookbook) describes on page 672f that max synchronization

works over the ICCP, but again without a hint on different configuration options for mac sync.

Alfred
