FEB Redundancy planning

‎08-31-2013 12:02 AM

Hi Experts,
How can I configure  fpc-feb-connectivity on a Full M120 router while having a FEB configured as primary and other configured as backup.

(i.e.. Because the backup FEB can't be assigned any FPC, one mapping of an FPC to a FEB wont be possible, as the number of FPCs in that case will be larger than the FEBs)

so is it possible to map 2 FPCs to 1 FEB ? and if yes what are the rules managing this ?

Regarding the primary/active FPC to FEB connectivity, "For each FEB, you can map a maximum of two Type 1 FPCs or one Type 2, Type 3, or compact FPC."

As far as FEB redunancy, it can be configured 1:1, where the forwarding state matches the primary FEB, prior to failure.  This provides immediate failover.  Or, you can configure n:1, where the forwarding state must be downloaded from the primary FEB before switch.
