Hardware to get?

‎03-28-2014 12:01 PM

Hi,

I am looking start an ISP. I currently have a very limited budget. I am going to have to have to start very low budget. The requirements are:

BGP

GRE Tunnels

VPN services (I assume PPTP - I think I can use Linux servers for this).

Multi homed - I will start with GRE tunnels in the begining.

I am thinking of either getting using J series (J4350 or J6350) OR SRX (SRX210 or SRX240).

What do you suggest and is there something else that I should look at?

What type of upstream connections? Ethernet? What about downstream customer circuits? How about throughput? If you can provide more details, it would help answer your questions.

Upstream will be Ethernet. Downstream for now will be GRE tunnels and PPTP (or some other protocol that I decide to go with).
