For these types of scaling  questions where they don't appear on the general data sheet, you are generally going to have to request the information from your sales engineer.  Especially in these cases where the answer will depend on the combination of RE, fpc and Junos installed.

If you are a partner, I have been told the partner portal has some of this available directly.

While this book is good on basics, it is way outdated.

It was written in 2015 when MS-DPC services card (1st gen on MX) was prevalent and MS-MPC/MS-MIC services cards (2nd gen) were just catching up feature-wise.

It's 2019, we have 3rd gen services card for MX called SPC3 which is massively more powerful than 1st and 2nd gen.

As for exact numbers, please have a chat with Your nearest friendly Juniper Systems a.k.a. Sales Engineer, I am sure s/he will be happy to share the numbers.

Thx

Alex

Hi amarprsi,
Yes I was hoping you’d use the reference links for further research. Agree with spuluka and Alex, while the Day One document is good and relevant to its content about CGNAT, it doesn’t include the latest/greatest options and missing the generation of service cards (SPC3) supported on the MX960s. As the admin seems to be visiting the site still, I’ve left her a note about this 😊.
You will definitely learn/gain more from a conversation with the nearest SE if you can catch hold of someone.

@Alex/spuluka, thanks a bunch for the reminder guys. Appreciate it.

Hope this helps.
