    Hello Team,

as a partner , we need some clarity on Juniper MX960 platform .

Does Juniper MX960 support Flow based QOS, specifucally user based Rate-limiting or not . ?

    USE CASE-  Internet SP BNG

We know that it supports DPI, Rate-limit (based on a percentage of physical port speed on an interface)

and can do Application Aware QoS – but it requires the MS-MPC

     https://www.juniper.net/assets/us/en/local/pdf/datasheets/1000498-en.pdf

But do MX960 really supports flow based QOS specifucally user based Rate-limiting or not . ?

We would really appreciate your quick response . Thanks in advance

    Hello,

You can assign an input/output filter with policer via dynamic-profile if that's Your question.

You can find several config examples on this forum.

Such as this one for PPP subs https://forums.juniper.net/t5/Routing/Controlling-PPP-Users/m-p/314981

    Thx

    Hello,

No, MS-MPC is not required for regular BNG/BRAS/LNS functionality including filters with policers.

MS-MPC is required for advanced functionality such as CGNAT, Jflow v9 (albeit Jflowv9 can be done in regular MPC as well), DPI, server load-balancer/TLD, HTTP Header enrichment, and the like.

    Thx
