Can anyone can spot/suggest issues with this conifg ?

Could you try to use interface lt-0/0/0  in logical-system ?

But i noticed a wierd thing

1/0/10 - is this normal ?

Thanks for posting the printout.

Clearly Your lt-* units are absent, not even down hence the ping problem.

I believe FPC 0 (where 4x10GE ports are located) is disabled in MX5, what happens if You configure lt-1/0/10 instead?

Try in the lt- units with encapsulation vlan, vlan-id X

Also if you are using ping, make sure you source it from the lt- address and that the LS's don't have a loopback filter applied.

We have an MX5 and logical tunnels work fine in 11.4R7.5:

I suspect that if you happen to have 'fpc 0' configured on the MX5 under the chassis stanza, it will not work because of the limitation of the MX5 which disables the 10G ports on the built-in FPC.  That said, if you have the available GE ports to spare, there's nothing wrong with doing a hairpin like you've done.
