Multicast with IPv6

‎10-01-2014 03:22 AM

Hi all.

I'm trying to configure static multicast group IPv6 with protocols MLD on M7i

show protocols mld
interface fe-0/2/3.0 {
static {
group ff02::1:ff05:1a8d;
}
}

But I got this error as I commit.

error: Check-out failed for Routing protocols process (/usr/sbin/rpd) without details
error: configuration check-out failed

Anybody helps me ?(

Hi,

This group is not valid since it has a link-local scope.

In the address ff02::1:ff05:1a8d the first 2 indicates the the group has a link-local scope.

You should try with another scope like for example ff05::1:ff05:1a8d  (here the first 5 indicates the group has a site-local scope.

Also did you try commit full ? commit check ?

What is your Junos version?

Thanks so much. I've changed to another group

show protocols mld
interface all;
interface fe-0/2/3.0 {
static {
group ffd8:a010::1;
}
}

It's ok.But I have a question. To permit Junos OS accept and reply ping multicast (Junos will be a client), with IPv4, I configure

show protocols sap
listen 225.10.15.10;

But to reply IPv6 multicast on Junos, how can I do that ?

Apparently SAP only supports IPv4.
