QFX5110: 'no-nexthop-change' in eBGP Peerings

2 weeks ago

Regd setting of 'no-nexthop-change' when using eBGP in a group with inet and evpn address-family enabled, is there a way to just set the no-nexthop-change' only to EVPN address-family and not to V4 address-family. In the below config, NH is unchanged even for V4 routes which I don't want.

group leaf-group {

    type external;

    description To-Leaf;

    family inet {

        unicast;

    }

    family evpn {

        signaling;

    }

   neighbor 10.10.20.10 {
        description Leaf1-NH1;
       multihop {
          no-nexthop-change;
       }
       peer-as 65001;
   }

}

}

Hi,

Can you eleborate your topology and what family evpn and family inet use case in your scenario?

I didn't find a way using "no-nexthop-change" knob to achieve your requirement.

You can try the other way around. Don't configure this knob. Don't do anything for evpn routes. Write an export policy for inet routes to explicitly change the NH to whatever you like

Thanks. I was able to export this policy into the group to only have NH self set for the inet routes.

policy-statement inet-NH-self {
term 1 {
from {
family inet;
protocol bgp;
}
then {
next-hop self;
}
}
}

group leaf-group {
family inet {
unicast;
}
family evpn {
signaling;
}
export inet-NH-self;
