QoS/CoS MX80 Scheduler on unit interface - is it supported?

‎07-18-2011 09:09 AM

Hi,

I need to configure a scheduler on an MX80 ge-1/x/x unit interface however on a commit check I get.....

"  ge-1/0/5 {

##

## Warning: 'per-unit-scheduler', 'hierarchical-scheduler', or 'shared scheduler' for this interface is required for bandwidth configuration on interface unit

##

  unit 600 {

            scheduler-map L3VPN-scheduler-map;

            shaping-rate 20m;

I don't see the option to enable a scheduler under the ge-1/0/5 interface, it is possible some other way?

Model: mx80-48t

JUNOS Base OS boot [11.1R1.14]

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Hope you are using one of the supported PIC type as listed in the below URL:

http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos/junos90/swconfig-cos/associating-the-scheduler-map-an...

Also, just ensure that you have enabled "per-unit-scheduler" under [edit interfaces interface-name] hierarchy level.

Hello,

You need a modular MX80 chassis with pluggable MIC to support "per-unit-scheduler" and hierarchical QoS.

"Per-unit-scheduler" is not supported on fixed MX80 - hardware limitation.
