Receiving both ipv4 and ipv6 NLRI updates over an IPV6 BGP peering
I have a peering relationship with a customer. This customer is peered to me over an IPV6 only connection. I would like to receive both ipv4 and ipv6 routes over this connection. However when I try to configure this. I get an error saying the following:
It does not let me add the section in red. When I do that i get the above stated error, the problem is that i need to receive both ipv4 and ipv6 routes over this connection. Any ideas. I have tried this connection on a cisco 3845 router lying around and it works fine. However I need to roll this into production on our j2320 router which is the router being used for this connection.
Is this a feature not implemented yet? I know I can do ipv6 routes over and ipv4 peering.
Re: Receiving both ipv4 and ipv6 NLRI updates over an IPV6 BGP peering
try adding a second bgp session over the same neighbor using ipv4 address:
set routing-options autonomous-system 632 set protocols bgp group bgpip4 type internal set protocols bgp group bgpip4 family inet unicast set protocols bgp group gpbip4 neighbor 188.8.131.52 peer-as 632 set protocols bgp group bgpip6 type internal set protocols bgp group gpbip6 family inet6 unicast set protocols bgp group bgpip6 neighbor a100:63:2::2 peer-as 632
now you have ipv4 neighbor receiving inet (ipv4) routes, and ipv6 neighbor receiving inet6 routes, on the same internal AS.
remember on both sides (don't know you customer is IOS or JUNOS or whatever, but you can always do two sessions over the same AS).
