  • 1.  Simple OSPF between two EX4300s

    Posted 10-11-2017 05:51

    I am trying to get into OSPF and want to configure it between two switches, but I'm having some difficulty.

    R1 & R2 with xe interfaces 10.5.0.1/24 and 10.5.0.2/24

    Protocols{

     Ospf {

      area 0.0.0.0 {

       interface xe-0/2/3.0;

      }

     }

    }

    Both have a loopback address set:

    R1: 192.168.0.1/32

    R2: 192.168.1.1/32

    Path: 192.168.1.1 <-> 10.5.0.1 <-> 10.5.0.2 <-> 192.168.0.1

    A "show ospf route" for R1 has R2s loopback address listed and R2 has R1s loopback, but cant ping with "No route to host" and I do not see the routes in the routing table.

    Can you share below commands output?

    show ospf database extensive

    show route

    The 10.1 and 10.4 addresses are IRB interfaces I will be using later.

    You're missing lo0 in your ospf config.

    set ospf area 0.0.0.0 interface lo0.0

    That's it, I see my mistake now. I appreciate it, thanks.
