Hello Arix,

Can you try uploading the log files to the case using case manager?

Case Manager is working. No problem.  But too many steps:

First capturing RSI on the device and then transferring the RSI from the Junos device to local laptop via WinSCP, and then uploading the RSI to the Case Manager...

I just want to reduce these steps by sending RSI file on the Junos device directly to the JTAC via > sftp anonymous@sftp.juniper.net

Well it looks like there are some issue intermittent issues. You can possibly try after some time 🙂

Arix,

You might want to check if the server is reachable/not by trying to ping the server:

ping sftp.juniper.net

> If you can't ping you cant connect and the server might be down. Try again later as Vishaal mentioned.

Hope this helps. Smiley Happy

Hello Arix,

Greetings!

Now, i am able to access the server. can you check the same?

C:\Users\shlinga>sftp anonymous@sftp.juniper.net
The authenticity of host 'sftp.juniper.net (10.76.3.34)' can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is SHA256:wTKjW6/cAnt5pbGQKjHZhj3WVqZsQtPUp0TR57dvj54.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?

Can you check now and see if it works?

You can also view the same contents in the KB with pictures for ease understanding in the below link:

Arix,

Yes, you will not be able to list directory contents after upload.

After you upload the file and it is successfully done, you won't be able to list the content.

This is included in the KB you shared earlier. https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB23337

Hope this helps. Smiley Happy

Hello Arix,

You cannot view the contents present in the directory after uploading the files. This information is already present in the KB.

KB:-

sftp> put bigfile.enc
Uploading bigfile.enc to /pub/incoming/<your SR number>/bigfile.enc
bigfile.enc 100% 5158MB 10.8MB/s 07:58

You will not be able to list directory contents after upload

https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB23337

Once the files are uploaded through SFTP, the TAC Engineer would be able to see the contents and analyze them.

I hope this helps. Please mark this post "Accept as solution" if this answers your query.

The reason for not being able to ls being that you could easily guess case numbers and then look at the names of the files others uploaded. So privacy, yours included.

Arix,

Yes, I checked the pdf shared by Lingu 🙂

I think once the file is moved to the SFTP server you won't be able to list the directory content.

If your question is wrt why you are getting the permission denied after the copy

sftp> ls -l
Couldn't read directory: Permission denied >> After the SFTP upload is done.

I believe you would not have the permissions to read the files or list the contents based on the policy/configuration defined on the server side once the upload is done.

Once the file upload is complete and it shows up as 100% like below:

ftp> put /var/home/arix/Mx_whole_config.txt
Uploading /var/home/arix/Mx_whole_Conf.txt to /pub/incoming/xxxx-yyyy-zzzz/Mx_whole_Conf.tx
/var/home/arix/Mx_whole_Conf.tx
100% 1688 1.7KB/s 00:00 >> File upload complete , you will not be able to list the files in directory.

I believe you read this as a part of the document:

Spoiler
You can list the directory content only for a short time after the upload completes because the file is
moved on the server to a location where it is not accessible to SFTP users.
Here is the same listing two minutes later:
sftp> ls -l
sftp>
