  • 1.  weird syslog in M10i after switch over FEB?

    Posted 05-31-2011 23:26

    Hi All,

I already buy a new M10i router with come with Junos 10.4R1.9. Then i do some hardware test. When i try for switch over the FEB, for example FEB0 is master and FEB1 is backup then weird syslog as per below already appear many time. Then after i switch back FEB0 as a master the syslog appear. Then i switch back FEB1 as a master  then syslog appear again many time. My Question is it FEB1 is faulty?.

In the time FEB1 as a Master then i try to add some command "set chassis redundancy cfeb0 prefered" then syslog will dissappear. Is it compulsory to add that command?

In M10i supposedly when we issue command to offline cFEB0 "request chasiss cfeb master offline", cFEB1 will automnatically take over right? But in my case it not take over. All the PIC will be offline too. Do i need to add some command to make sure FEB will redudant?

Just to add info no alarm appear when i do command "sh chasiss alarm".

    Hi,

I think you can safely ignore this syslog message. I looked into the PR-446331 internally and it appears this message is not appilcable for M10i and M7i.

The same has been release noted as below:

    Hi Surya,

Thanks for the feedback. FYI my router is m10i.....The Junos version is 10.4....So do u mean that syslog is just a cosmetic only. Not impact traffic whwn i start to deploy that router?

    Hi,

Yes, it appears to be cosmetic.
