Do you by chance have the UTM anti-spam feature enabled on a policy?

I have this exact same issue when the anti-spam application service is applied to my inbound smtp policy. Eventually the SRX box will coredump and many nasty things occur after that.

As of this point, there is no resolution from Juniper.

I am running an SRX240H with 10.0r3.1 (the antispam didnt even work on 10.0r2.1)

We don't use spam filtering on the box. We are currently using A/V, WF, and IDP.

Upgrade to 10.2R3. I haven't found AV to work correctly on any version yet though.

    Hi Mohammad,

From the current output of below, CPU, memory and session is under control but the output of high CPU in log messages  might be not continous but frequnt.

mriyad@SRX-Galleria> show security monitoring fpc 0
    FPC 0
    PIC 0
    CPU utilization : 17 %
    Memory utilization : 49 %
    Current flow session : 159
    Max flow session : 65536
Session Creation Per Second (for last 96 seconds on average): 0

    0

You need to check and input and output pps/bps and other parameters like screen attack.

I would suggest to raise case with JTAC if issue is not resolved.

in my situation it was a very huge number of L2 packets

over 180000 PPS coming to SRX

    simple storm in collision domain
