No Line End Character SRX240H2 latest firmware

‎05-29-2020 04:24 AM

Hello,

I upgraded an SRX240H2 to 12.3X48-D101 built 2020-04-12 firmware.

When I use the J-cli with Maintain, Config Management-> History, all downloaded files does't have ay line end characters

The file is useless, I didn't have the problem with previous versions.

How do I get a usable file?

Regards

Hi Gilles,

I see that is the recommended version that you have installed, however just curious as to what version were you on previously and how did you upgrade this device?

This product is also EOL, try re-installing the JunOS?

Else, consider flashing the device with a previous release like 12.3X48-D100?

Hello New,

I upgraded with an usb stick with the latest firmware. I tried with the D100 and same effect. No line end character with the exported file. I don't remember the previous firmware, certainly junos-srxsme-12.3X48-D75.4-domestic

I have no other problem with the D101 firware, stupid bud 🙂

Hi Gilles,

The possible reason I could think of is that when you open the file on your local machine, the file's character encoding is changed resulting in the text that is continuous. However, this is just a suspicion, to check if this is an issue with changed character encoding on your system or the file exported itself is the way it is you can perform an md5 hash on the source and the destination of the exported file.

- If the md5 matches, then issue with the way file is being exported by the SRX --> check with JTAC

- If the md5 does not match, issue with local character encoding that is causing the issue. --> Check on your machine the settings for the same

Note: That the md5 should remain the same before and after opening the file. (with no change made, of course Smiley Happy )

Let me know what you find, please mark my post as a solution if this works!

Hello Nex,

The formatting is bad even if you use the view function of the J-Cli.

Look at the capture of a non-sensitive area

Testing with Chrome and Edge

Thanks for your help

Hello,

I confirm the same at SRX220H2 12.3X48-D101

Previously at 12.3X48-D85 - no such issue.

It seems that newline characters are now omitted ot not processed correctly as everything is merged into single line.

"show configuration" in the console produces output that looks fine.
