    Hi All,

I came across this alarm on one of our clients EX 4550-32f switch (Junos version 12.3R8.7)

Not sure what's the exact issue here.Is it coz the power cord isnt plugged in properly or the Power Supply 0 is faulty

Looking forward for your help guys. Thanks

    Below are some outputs

    > show chassis alarms

    1 alarms currently active
    Alarm time Class Description
2015-09-20 16:09:25 PDT Major FPC 0 PEM 0 is not powered

    > show chassis environment
    Class Item Status Measurement
Power FPC 0 Power Supply 0 Failed   -----------------------------------> failed
FPC 0 Power Supply 1 OK

    Hi Kunal,

It could be either of the two situations you have mentioned.

What I would suggest is to reseat the power cord or try with a working/spare cord.

If the issue still persists and the issue is not there with the spare/working power cord ou can be sure that the power cord is faulty and needs a RMA.

    You can also check the PEM info status with the below command;

    > show chassis environment

Where in your case it is showing as failed so this could be genuine failure.

But I would suggest you to do the test I have mentioned above.

Correct, it surely seems a RMA scenario but I would suggest you to try the physical test I had suggested in my previous post to be sure that we have a failed power supply.
