    Hi all !!!

How to configure power redundancy on SRX3600 device? I've found this article for EX switches, there is command:

    set chassis psu redundancy n-plus-n

But i haven't found anything alike for SRX. Maybe they are similar?

    Thanks.

    Regards, Aleksey.

    Hi lexpolskij,

There is no similar command for SRX.

The power redundancy for SRX is simple, all PSU share load together; whenever there is PSU failure, the working one will take up the load.

    Hope this help.

    Cheers,

    Tim.

    Thank you, tleung!

So, I have 4 power modules for my SRX3600, and they all will work together. If I want to reserve 2 power modules with redundancy 2+2, there is no solution for this scheme, isn't it?

    Regards, Aleksey.

    Dear Aleksey,

4 PSU work together in normal situation.

If one of the PSU failed, the remaining ones will take up the load.

So, there is no interruption to service.

Yes, I think currently there is no command to change the default redundancy scheme.

Not sure if any enhancement on the roadmap.

    Cheers,

    Tim.

Tim is correct here, but one important thing to note is that typically N+N indicates that you have power source redundancy, not just power supply redundancy, so you would need to make sure that you have two power supplies connected to power source A, and two power supplies connected to power source B.  Since the box requires two power supplies to run, a loss of a single power source does not impact operation.

    Hi

Just another point I thought it worth mentioning while looking at this article.

The SRX3600s need only 2 power supplies to fully power the chassis. So, although there is no 2+2 (N+N) redundancy per day, any two non-functional power supplied out of four will still continue to power the platform.
