We are trying to upgrade the junos on SRX650 running as A/P cluster, I have copied the junos package to node0, but unable to copy it to node1, followed the KB17410 but just a blank screen appears and nothing happens.  How to upgrade KB17235 also points to the same link.

    Appreciate your help on this.

    Regards,

    Abhilash

You will need the backup-router configured so that you can reach the secondary through the fxp0 management interface.  Please ensure you have that configured ... otherwise, you will only be able to reach the primary node only through fxp0.

If you do a manual changeover of master to the one you can't copy the file to, does it then work?  (Appreciate this may not be something you want to do in working hours though).

Which interface are you upgrading over?

    A.

    Hi Abhilash,

I have tried this kb [KB 17410] works. The only thing here is that it takes a hell lot of time. reason being serial mode of transfer.

Have patience... it will copy the junos image. Don't forget that the image itself would be a huge file.

Besides if you have physical access to the device you can try the usb method to copy junos as :-

log into primary node after inserting the usb to secondary  & then try :-

    >request routing-engine login node 1

    %mount -t msdosfs /dev/da0s0 /mnt  [ check the correct drive by running ls -l /dev ].

    %cp /mnt/<junos package name> /cf/var/tmp/

    %

Now you are ready to upgrade the devices.
