SRX3600 SNMP monitor timeout

‎06-13-2016 10:56 PM

Hi all,

Monitoring system configured to monitor with SNMP CPU load, temperature, interface traffic ...

For SRX3600 SNMP status is Cannot connect to "X.X.X.X:161": Timeout.

I think this is access issue.

Please advise what to check.

Thanks

Is this a new issue or was this working earlier?

If this is new, then please ensure you have SNMP as host-inbound on that interface. Also paste your SNMP config from SRX here.

It was working earlier.

In monitoring system all graphs are clear, but snmpwalk shows results from SRX.

Also web access to SRX was working earlier, but know the site can’t be reached. HTTP configuration on SRX is ok.

Check if routing engine CPU is high (> show chassis routing-engine). If yes, then share the output of ">show system process extensive"

- Is this SRX3600 in a chassis cluster?
- Are you using fxp0 IP or some other revenue port IP to poll from SNMP server?
If it is a revenue port, then check if interface has SNMP as host-inbound-service using ">show interface <interface-name> extensive" command

- Use "> monitor traffic interface <interface name> no-resolve" command to see if packets are reaching the SRX.
- Was any recent change made to configuration? (like adding/modifying firewall filter on loopback interface)
- Apply SNMP traceoptions using below:
# set snmp traceoptions file snmp-trace
# set snmp traceoptions flag all
# commit

Now generate SNMP packets from your server and see if SRX is receiving them and if yes then what it does with those packets. (>show log snmp-trace)
