  • 1.  SRX650-Can we use built-in ports to carry live traffic under Cluster mode

    Dear Experts,

May I know if we can use built-in port on SRX650 to carry live traffic when HA is enabled.

    The built-in ports are ge-0/0/0, ge-0/0/1, ge-0/0/2, ge-0/0/3.

As per the following link, when HA is enabled, ge-0/0/1 will be used as control port, ge-0/0/2 will be used as fabric port.

So my question is if I can use ge-0/0/0 and ge-0/0/3 to carry live traffic?

ge-0/0/0 is facing Core network, ge-0/0/3 is facing Internet.

    Thanks

    Hi Leo_Gu,

When cl;ustering is enabled ge-0/0/0 becomes fxp0 (management),ge-0/0/1 becomes fxp1 (control link). Ge-0/0/2 and Ge-0/0/3 are free, but you need one port for fab link.So you will be left with just one port.

When you cluster SRX650s, ge-0/0/0 is locked as the management port, ge-0/0/1 is used for the control link, and ge-0/0/2 becomes the fabric link.  If you have no other interface modules installed, then you are left with a single port, ge-0/0/3, for assigning to zones and passing traffic.
