Hi NeverAgain,

EOL, means you dont have any support from Juniper on this but you can upgrade to any latest version. Since 10.0 is EEOL you my try upgrading directly to any other EEOL like 10.4 , 11.4,12.X44 or 12.1X46.

Please refer page 91 on relese notes given below.

Thanks,
Suraj

You can't do a direct upgrade if it's three versions apart (I believe), check the relase notes.

So you'll need to to the uograde in steps e.g. 10.0 > 11.4 > 12.1X

Hi NeverAgain,

You can go directly from 10.0R3.10  to  12.1X46-D40 as they both are EEOL (Extended End Of Life)

Don't forget to also upgrade the routing engine bios firmware after the upgrade

You can see the versions by doing: show system firmware

marcel@blab01> show system firmware
Part             Type           Tag Current   Available Status
                                    version   version
Routing Engine 0 RE BIOS        0   2.7       2.8       UPGRADED SUCCESSFULLY
Routing Engine 0 RE BIOS Backup 1   2.7       2.8       UPGRADED SUCCESSFULLY

The upgrade can be done by doing:

request system firmware upgrade re bios backup

after a few minuts you run the show system firmware again. When their is the note UPGRADED SUCCESSFULLY you can upgrade the primary bios

request system firmware upgrade re bios.

When this is done do an other system reboot so the new bios firmware will become the active one.
