I am having SRX5600 services gateway and I want to upgrade it using the USB flash drive which came with the box or otherwise from my own flash drive.

I need to know the steps involved in upgrading the Junos OS successfully and to check it after successful completion.

    Thanks,

    Feroz

    Hi there,

Is this a stanalone SRX, or you run it in chassis cluster?

There are different upgrade procedures for cluster and standalone deployments.

Useful stuff for Chassis cluster upgrade:

Things to consider when using ISSU:

    Upgrading from USB flash:

Actually its the new firewall and after upgrading the Junos OS to its latest version it will be getting clustered with the another srx5600.

And what is the current latest Junos OS version for SRX 5600 which runs best on it?

JTAC recommended junos version for SRX gateways is 11.4R6.6

    (except SRX550)

whether for upgrading the Junos OS on standalone & clusstered devices are different?
And the syntax for upgrading the OS on operational mode is given as

    "request system software add <location-of-package>/ <junos-filename> no-validate no-copy"

then how to give the 'location' of the package? like in wondows as C:\Users\Pictures\Camera Roll or something different?

A littel concerned and worried that this task maybe a little bit over your head. Probably engage a consultant to help you out just in case something goes amiss with the upgrade. Hopefully those articles will help you.
