I have noticed that when i set static ips on the virtual machines i have juniper DHCP still assigns those ips to new virtual machines that are created
Why is srx not respecting the static ip assignments?
The SRX DHCP server only knows what pool you gave it to use for addresses. It does not have the probe before issuing option. So you have two options when you want to assign a static address inside the range you already configured for the SRX DHCP server.
Recofigure the range to exclude the static address
Assign the address to the devices mac address via static reservation. Here the DHCP server will only give that address to the assigned mac address so it will no longer be used.

yeah i remembered i opened a question on this case before as well
forgot juniper has no way to respect static ip allocations
so yeah i remember i had to add the list of ips to remove from pool
