I successfully upgraded a SRX100 from 10.0 to 10.1, but when I try to delete the software backup (GUI or CLI), nothing happens. Perhaps part of the problem is that the storage is showing 100% used. When I did this with other SRX100s, I was upgrading from 9.6 and didn't have either of these problems.
You have a device with dual partitions, it will not delete the older version until you install another (later) release. See the 10.0 release notes for more info about this.

But what of the lack of free space? Apparently it's a GUI bug, which is confirmed by the tooltip which reports 1000M/578M. If I use the CLI, it shows a lot of information, and I'm not sure which ones are important, but /cf/var is only 5% used.
In some cases storage is showing as 100% on J-Web but space is available if you see through cli. This is because J-Web is inaccurate if you are looking for storage percent and this is resolved from 10.1 R2 and above.
