    Hi experts!

are the RFC5382 and RFC5508 supported on SRX devices?

On url http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos11.2/topics/reference/standards/nat.html says that RFCs are sopported on router with Services PIC, but I don't know if are sopported on SRX, I have not found any documents about that.

Any ideas where I can get public documentation referencing the above?

    Your help please

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Danny

That same document applies for SRX as well, check the "Supported Platforms" section at the right side of the document. The SRX doesnt require any aditional modules to support NAT/SIP.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi epaniagua

do vSRXs support RFC5382 and RFC5508 without additives?

Do I need to add somethings else to work on vSRXs?

    Thanks again

    Danny,

The vSRX is pretty much an SRX, it is just virtualized. I will assume that it supports NAT/SIP likewise and I can say that you dont need any extra modules/licenses.

the document is valid for SRX & vSRX is just a virtual instance of same SRX.

I see your confusion started as the document is very ill written (starts with "On routers equipped with ") and it also valid for SRX which is a security device and not a router.

I have raised a feedback(P1 aka 1*) to the documentation team to correct the confusing language.  This will be corrected.

    Hello,

With access to some internal studies done on these RFCs I can confirm that we substantially support them across the SRX platforms including the vSRX. When I say substantially, please note that not all requirements mentioned in the RFC are supported, based on due diligence done.

May I understand your exact requirement to help you better?

    > Are you looking for a specific requirement mentioned in this RFC in your implementation?

    > Is there are Customer RFP requirement that you have with respect to compliance with these RFCs?

    Regards,

    Hello Vikas,

It is for the customer RFP and only indicates that RFC's should be covered.

    I really apreciate your help
