This is a legacy community with limited Juniper monitoring.

  • 1.  ALG FTP not available

    I use Screen OS 5.4.0r3a.0 on a SSG140 but I can't find ALG for FTP.

    Is that an option (license wise) or only available in a higher Screen OS version ?

    Hi Raymond,

     

    Do you mean you don't see it in "get alg" ftp, http and others are there be default they don't show up in the command line but they are there and running.

     

    I don't think there is a way to show them, perhaps one of the other juniperites can tell you.

    Thanks for the fast follow up.

    When doing "get alg" I see;

     

    MSRPC    ALG : enabled
    SUNRPC   ALG : enabled
    SQL      ALG : enabled
    SIP      ALG : enabled
    RTSP     ALG : enabled
    H323     ALG : enabled
    MGCP     ALG : enabled
    SCCP     ALG : enabled

     

    If like you say ALG FTP is not showing but still running, how can I configure it ?

    When I try "set alg ftp" it  says "command not implemented"

    You can't configure it, it's there and running but nothing you can change.

     

    What are you looking to do with it?

    This is visible in 6.0 and above software but you still can't do much with it!

    PPTP     ALG : disabled

    SCCP     ALG : disabled
    SIP      ALG : disabled
    SQL      ALG : disabled
    SUNRPC   ALG : disabled
    TALK     ALG : enabled
    TFTP     ALG : disabled
    XING     ALG : enabled
    ns5200-> unset alg ftp ?
    enable               enable FTP ALG
    ns5200-> set alg ftp      
    enable               enable FTP ALG
