EX4600 and MX104 certified by the US Department of Defense

As I have mentioned in the past, US Defense Department policy requires that products used in DoD networks must be selected from the Unified Capabilities Approved Product list (UC APL).

Products on the UC APL have demonstrated that they meet a demanding set of DoD Information Assurance and Interoperability requirements.  These requirements are contained in the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and in the Unified Capabilities Requirements (UCR).

The portfolio of Juniper Networks solutions certified for use by the US Department of Defense continues to expand and be updated. The EX4600 and the MX104 have been approved for the first time as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) capable, Assured Services Local Area Network (ASLAN) devices approved for use in the ASLAN Core, Distribution, and/or Access roles.

The EX4600 was certified for use with Junos 14.1X53 software and was certified as a stand alone device or when deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration.  The EX4600 completes the EX family as DoD certified ASLAN devices.  The EX4300 and EX6210 were also recertified with Junos 14.1X53 software.  The EX9200 was recertified with Junos 14.2 software.

The MX104 was certified for use with Junos 14.2 software and joins the rest of the MX family as MPLS capable ASLAN devices.  The other MX devices were also recertified with Junos 14.2 software.  MX devices are also certified for use as a Customer Edge Router (CER).

CTP Series

In addition to these ASLAN certifications, the Juniper Networks everything over IP solutions, the CTP Series devices were recertified as both Fixed Network Elements and Deployed Network Elements.  The Deployed Network Certification is required when deployed into tactical networks that require the use of satellite links.

This recertification was with CTPOS 7.1 and included certification of CTPView with CTPViewOS 7.1.

The Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (UC APL) certification memos can be found at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Approved Products List Integrated Tracking System (APLITS) website at this link.
