How Juniper Got Its Security Mojo Back

2016 is the year that Juniper got its security mojo back in a big way.  We’re firing on all cylinders, from software to platforms to sales and across the market segments we address.  Let it be known that we are no longer in catch up mode.  With the goal of leading in security innovation Juniper is executing on its vision for a Software Defined Secure Network (SDSN) – a secure network addressing real-time threat detection, automated enforcement and adaptive policies across the entire network.

After unveiling SDSN at RSA in February, we then announced the cSRX, the industry’s first containerized virtual firewall, along with a multi-core version of the vSRX, the industry’s fastest firewall at 100 Gbps that is 10 times greater than the nearest competitor.

What now has the attention of security CIOs is our new Policy Enforcer shipping this month that automates the enforcement of security policies across the network and quarantines infected endpoints to prevent threats across firewalls AND switches with our Junos Space Security Director.

Speaking of Security Director, the user interface enhanced this year embodies breakthroughs far beyond competitive parity and helps security professionals save time and manual steps. A video demo is the best way to appreciate the new interface.

These are just a few security innovations from Juniper this year that prove we are back at the head of the pack and our customers and partners worldwide are embracing them. We believe we have the right strategy and roadmap in place so stay tuned to Juniper security in 2017!

Juniper Announces AppFormix Acquisition

Juniper has acquired AppFormix, an innovator in cloud operations management. AppFormix's platform for cloud operations is built on big-data analytics and machine learning, putting self-driving infrastructure at the core of every cloud. This acquisition will bring the power of analytics through machine learning and telemetry to Juniper's customers.

Applying machine learning technology, AppFormix is redefining telemetry and operations management across software-defined infrastructures and application software layers. AppFormix's technology is designed to provide public, private and telco cloud operators in both OpenStack and Kubernetes environments, real-time and historic monitoring, visibility, and dynamic performance optimization. When paired with Juniper's Contrail product line, AppFormix improves cloud orchestration, security, accounting and planning. We believe that Juniper customers will benefit from a smarter, automatic and agile operational experience at lower total costs.
