Today we made it official. We closed the deal to acquire BTI Systems. I look forward to the opportunities the combined strengths of our two companies will create for our partners and customers.
The deal provides our customers with what they’ve been asking for: An open ecosystem of plug-and-play products with SDN control to optimize IP services across their networks by providing true visibility across both IP and optical networks.
So in plain English, our partners now have an integrated optical solution to better address their customers’ needs, as well as an expanded packet optical portfolio. It also provides a significant new revenue stream.
Over the next few weeks and months, you’ll be hearing about product training and certification programs for partners, as well as Juniper Networks sales and account managers. Selling can begin as soon as certification is complete. So get trained and certified via the Juniper Learning Academy.
Generally, the same Juniper Partner Advantage (JPA) programs and resources will be available for BTI Systems products, as they are for other Juniper portfolio products.
If you’re a partner currently selling BTI Systems’ products, you can continue to do so. Nothing changes in the Juniper ordering process.
BTI Systems’ existing channel partners will be evaluated for enrollment in Juniper’s Partner Advantage program and to ensure a smooth transition.
As I said in January, this acquisition is good news for our channel partners. Our go-to-market strategy will include leveraging our existing channel for service providers with an emphasis on targeting our strong base of existing customers and resellers. We will also target the service provider channel through both our partners and our direct sales force and leverage existing relationships with strategic partners that have a focus on delivering optical solutions to the market.
