OpenLab EMEA Celebrates Its First Anniversary

It has been a year since we launched our OpenLab venues in London and Amsterdam as part of the global expansion of this network and skills transformation resource.

Through these physical locations and a series of online events, we have enabled customers, partners, academia and other third parties across EMEA to go ‘hands on’ and explore, learn and directly work with Juniper technologies and platforms.

Over the last 12 months, we have run a range of educational and training activities designed to introduce the market to leading edge solutions while also aiming to facilitate a crucial network and skills transformation. Specifically, OpenLab EMEA has played host to seven programs (two webcasts and five face-to-face sessions) focused on automation technologies and tools. These have included four hands-on OpenLab Learning Series programs discussing Contrail and a tailored customer automation Throwdown (educational workshop and competition), targeting specific automation use cases, for a large EMEA Service Provider.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. As a participant in the Learning Series, a representative from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer said: “We attended the OpenLab Network Automation training that was hosted by Juniper Networks – it was very thought provoking. It makes sense to start developing a high-level network automation framework and it would be really useful to get Juniper’s insight on how best to proceed on that. There will be a need to create a more flexible SDN-based architecture to cater for supporting a DevOps model. We will need to evolve to a NetOps architecture.”

As the momentum builds, we will continue to expand the Learning Series sessions in terms of both geography and technology/solution. This will include the delivery of the programs outside of the physical boundaries of the existing Amsterdam and London locations via face-to-face “roadshow” offerings. Furthermore, we are expanding the portfolio to include our Software Defined Secure Networking (SDSN) solution and AppFormix, an optimization tool that provides advanced monitoring, scheduling, and performance management for software-defined infrastructure.

In 2017, nearly 700 attendees have participated in the Learning Series programs run across the OpenLab global locations or via regional webcasts. Please be sure to find the topics and times that suit you and be part of the ongoing success of OpenLab EMEA. Registration is free.
