On February 15th, 2013 the Juniper Networks Certification Program will make the following changes to the Firewall/VPN track:
1) EOL the JN0-522 FWV, Associate (JNCIA-FWV) certification exam
2) Replace the existing JN0-532 FWV, Specialist (JNCIS-FWV) certification exam with the JN0-533, Specialist (JNCIS-FWV) exam. Note: There is no change to the recommended training courses for the JNCIS-FWV exam.
What is the impact on candidates?
Candidates preparing for the JN0-522 FWV, Associate (JNCIA-FWV) exam or the existing JN0-532 FWV, Specialist (JNCIS-FWV) exam should plan to take their exam(s) by February 15th at any Pearson VUE testing center. Once earned, a certification credential remains valid for two years.
After February 15th, candidates working to earn a Firewall/VPN certification will take the new JN0-533 FWV, Specialist (JNCIS-FWV) exam. Details on the new exam, including topics covered, are available on the Firewall/VPN Track page.
I think the certification makes sense for those who will support ScreenOS directly. I found the exam prep process helpful in learning the platform and supporting the features and troubleshooting tasks.
