Hi Chris,

There is nothing for you to be aware of in terms of updates to the JNCIE-SEC exam at this time. Note that we announce changes to all exams 2-3 months prior to the release of the new version. As always, be sure to check this forum and the Certification webpages for such announcements.

Would JNCIS-SEC be valid if we take this exam prior 1st July?  Moreover, what changes are expected in new version?

The new JNCIP-SEC has me sweating Steve - lot's of new content since I passed the original IP-SEC back in December 2013!

Lot's to brush up on before the end of the month!

Nice - plenty of time to get up to speed with everything. I'll let you know how I get on with the exam.

I'm expecting a battle for sure - just looked at the new material for the exam here. Might be well worth purchasing for prep.

Ouch, I don't like that all the classes are re-organized to be 5 days each.  Makes the material pretty expensive.

The 2-3 day chunks allowed me to get the specific material I needed at a more reasonable rate.

There never were any books or online material for the JNCIP-SEC exam and there still are not for the new blueprint.

Juniper Education uses the courses as their primary vehicle to cover the material needed for exams.  So you can see from the exam sectoin on this page below the course updated for the new blue print is AJSEC.

http://www.juniper.net/us/en/training/certification/certification-tracks/junos-security-track/#jncip...

They prefer you take the live course but they do sell the courseware student books for self study.  However there was a pretty big price jump this year on these.  And they are not real self study books, just the slides with speaker notes and the lab guides.

Re: New JNCIS-SEC (JN0-333) and JNCIP-SEC (JN0-634) Exams

Hello, everyone

I'd have wished for more positive circumstances to make my first post on the Juniper community, but, unfortunately, I'm here because of the difficulty finding official study materials for the JNCIS Security certification exam, which I'm planning to sit next month. I won't bother asking you for them, since it's pretty clear from the previous posts that there aren't that many new ones to go around.

I do, however, feel obligated to draw your attention to a worrying aspect, i.e. dumping. I ran a casual google query for the study guides ("jn0-333 study guide"), and, with the meagre exception of the first result (which is the official exam objectives) and the second one (this particular forum thread), all the next pages had "dumps" in there somewhere or other.

I'm fairly new to Juniper (5 months current experience on branch SRX devices, passed JNCIA several days ago), and I like Junos a lot so far, but it's a little disheartening to see the integrity of the Juniper certification tracks (which, as I heard from various sources, is held in very high regard) threatened from so many directions.

To make things short, I'm curious about what's being done to prevent the leaking of actual exam questions, and, if that can't be stopped, how the effects of the leaks can be mitigated. I'd also like to know if there is any hope in the (very) near future for an updated study guide for JNCIS-SEC.

Thank you for your patience,

Martin

P.S. I apologize in advance if this post doesn't belong here.

Tell me more.

Hi Martin,

I apologize for the delayed response from the JNCP team in regard to your questions about exam security, which is something that we take very seriously. For obvious reasons, I cannot go into the specifics of the security measures that we deploy to ensure the integrity of our exams, but I can speak to them in general terms.

The most effective and simplest way for us to mitigate such risks is to refresh the exams themselves on a regular basis. You can see from the posts in this forum the frequency at which we update the exam content. We also have several tools at our disposal that enable us to readily detect when an exam, or even if a specific item on an exam, has been compromised. We then take the necessary steps to replace the compromised item(s). Additionally, we perform industry standard statistical analyses on each exam attempt to ensure compliance with our Juniper Networks Candidate Agreement and JNCP exam security policies, which is the reason for the provisional scoring used on all of our written exams.

Lastly, we ask that you, our certified community, help us in this endeavor. If you see something that is in violation of our policies, then please let us know.

Regards,
JNCP Team

Hi Midhun,

I was looking through old posts and re-read this post. I was wondering whether you had attempted to recertify the JNCIE-SEC?

Many thanks,

Graham
