My school had a trapeze wifi controller with 20 APs installed a few years back. We have out grown our 500 IPs and I have read opening up the IP range will slow the network. I think it is best to seperate the wifi clients to Internal and Guest networks. I am able to create a VLAN in the MX800R assign the SSID a inside IP and enable DHCP, so guests get a sepearate IP range addresses but they dont show a gateway. Most of our switches do not support VLANs but all of the switches connecting APs to the controller do. Would I need to make config changes on all switches or is this VLAN only important on the controller? How can I get the controller to push out the proper gateway? If I am going about this incorrectly or there is a better way, please advise.
