vMX (running on KVM) can't enter to recovery mode

[ Edited ]

vMX v18.1R1.9

KVM/Qemu: v4.2.0 and also I tried on v2.4.0 too.

I using gns3 and eve-ng, for configuration I follow this:

Importing vMX and vQFX into GNS3

Add Juniper vMX 16.X, 17.X - Eve-NG

I am sorry, maybe I post this to wrong forum.  But who knows here anyone has experienced or just gave advice. And I think this still relates to vmx.

I tried to recover the password on my vMX. But I failed to enter recovery mode.  My vMX stopped in the following log:

Trying to mount root from cd9660:/dev/md0.uzip []...
Kernel thread "wkupdaemon" (pid 35) exited prematurely.

I have waited for more than two hours and tried to press some of my keyboard buttons (such as enter, space, ctrl + c, etc.), but it still does not go into recovery mode.

What problems might be the cause?

Thanks.

Hi!

Hoping you are doing great, after the vMX boot I'd to know if you have tried to enter to single-user mode and then entered the 'recovery' word in this mode?

Here are steps you will need to follow to recover the root password.

https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/vsrx/topics/task/multi-task/security-vsrx-kvm-root-passw...

Please try and let me know the results?
