vSRX and VM ware Fault Tolerance feature

Hi everyone,

I am looking into implementing redundancy for our vSRX.

Consider the following example:

1) Let say we have implemented VM ware Fault Tolerance for vSRX. We have now vSRX ( Primary) on ESXi1 and VSRX ( Secondary) on ESXi. If we have to upgrade JUNOS on vSRX ( Primary) will it automatically upgrade JUNOS on back up?

Thanks and have a good weekend!!

To upgrade both members of a chassis cluster SRX as a single unit and without downtime you need the feature ISSU - In service software upgrade.

It looks like as of 9/22/19 this is still not available on the vSRX platform

https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/vsrx/topics/concept/security-vsrx-feature-support.html

So you would be doing individual upgrades on the two vSRX.  The minimal downtime version is to perform the upgrade on both units at the same time during which traffic is still good.  Then reboot them together during which time the traffic is down.
